Pastor Joshua has served Veritas Church since the fall of 2024. Before that he was a pastor in suburban Chicago for ten years. He and his wife, Amy, are busy raising their “Generation 1.5” with three newly adopted young children to add to their five grown sons. Foster care and Adoption are passionate values of the Skogerboe family. Before becoming a lead Pastor, Joshua spent 20 years in Worship and Arts ministry, as well as church planting and work as an Executive Pastor. Joshua is passionate about helping people live out their life purpose with freedom and joy through relationship with Jesus Christ.

Tony is right at home working with kids and young adults, having spent many years in the field. He is currently heading up ministry for Children, Students, and Young Adults (Age 0 – College). He and his wife, Jamie, have two grown children, and hundreds of “kids” they claim from both current and former
ministry days. Every Sunday you can find them loving our little ones during Children’s Church, and every Thursday night at Veritas eating pizza and changing the lives of students and young adults.

Joshua and his wife Chrissy are faithful, long-time members here at Veritas, and they keep things clean and working on site. Joshua is a beautiful example of a redeemed disciple of Jesus Christ, and he’s quick to point all glory to God.
Joshua has a deep passion for those in recovery. He knows that the only hope of true heart change and new life comes through faith in Jesus, by the grace of God.

AUDIO VISUAL HEAD TECHNICIAN :: CURTIS GRUVER
With arguably the best last name for a professional drummer of all time,
Curtis Gruver not only lends his percussive chops to the Worship Team each week, he also heads up our Technical Team. Curtis is responsible for our sound and lighting, video, and live streaming each week. When not serving at Veritas, he is an active gig drummer, percussion studio teacher, and professional rodeo clown. He is always looking for more volunteers! If you have an interest in helping with our Projection Ministry, video mixing, or running our sound board during Sunday morning worship services, talk to Curtis.

WORSHIP MINISTRY :: CARYN BORLAND + JOSHUA SKOGERBOE
Joshua and Caryn partner together to lead the worship ministry at Veritas. Caryn (and her husband Mike) have a long history of music ministry in a number of churches over the years. They are instrumental in The Songwriter Initiative of the Center for Worship Leadership, which exists to supportmodern songwriters serving within the Lutheran church and seeks to be a positive resource and influence for those writing for the church-at-large. Caryn and Pastor Joshua both have experience in song writing and recording.
Most of all, they both share a heart to see Jesus Christ adored and worshipped by our local church.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY LEADERS :: DAN AND JACQUIE PETERSON
Dan and Jacquie are active and faithful leaders here at Veritas. Both of them love God’s Word and have led a number of different studies for years. Our Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies meet on Friday mornings, but they both lead evening studies in their home for Men and Women, as well. If you would like to get plugged in to a smaller group setting to study the Word and grow, or if you have any questions, contact Dan or Jacquie.
